The 2026 CAMM Annual Conference will be held at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, CT.

Saturday, April 25 – Post-Conference Tour – Commissioning of USS Idaho at SUBASE Groton

Conference attendees have the opportunity to attend the commissioning of the Virginia-class submarine USS Idaho followed by tours of the boat. These will not be guided tours so will require queuing. A bus will provide transport between Mystic and Groton – there is no parking for individual vehicles. Attendees must present Real ID or US Passport or US Passport Card to enter the base. Non-US citizens require additional screening, so we must be advised of their status in advance.

There is an absolute limit of twenty-five (25) openings available on a first-come first-served basis to attendees from CAMM member institutions in good standing who have registered for the full conference. Whalers Inn

In Downtown Mystic, The Whalers Inn is a ¾ mile walk to the Conference Site, and home to Shipwright’s Daughter, James Beard award winning restaurant. Book by March 21 for discounted rate.  Cost ranges from $184-$200/night.

Travel to Mystic

Airports

TF Green outside Providence, RI, the closest airport, is about a 40 minute drive from Mystic. Bradley Airport near Hartford, CT is about an hour and fifteen minute drive, and Boston, MA is about an hour and a half.

There are no shuttles from the airports to Mystic, but rental cars are available.

Amtrak

Mystic is conveniently located on the Northeast Corridor. The Amtrak train station in Mystic is within walking distance of the Museum and Whalers Inn. More frequent stops are in New London, CT about a 15 minute Uber ride away.
