Name of Collections

Papers of Fellows and Stewart, Inc.; William Muller Collection; Emil Aarup Collection; Papers of William Olesen; Monarch Shipbuilding, Inc. Collection; Hugh Angelman Collection; Records of the Glass-Bottomed Boat Princess

Description

With the exceptions of the Papers of William Olesen, and the Records of the Glass-Bottomed Boat Princess, the ships’ lines in our collection are evidence of work at specific boat-building firms from the early to mid-twentieth century in Los Angeles Harbor. Most of the lines are blueline copies of the originals, and there are also a number of ink and linen, or graphite on tracing paper drawings. The two exceptions mentioned above vary from a collector’s collection of old blueline prints to several blueprint construction drawings for the passenger vessel Princess, now located at the Salton Sea in Southern California.  The types of vessels depicted in the design or construction drawings vary greatly from pleasure craft to military auxiliaries.
