Independence Seaport Museum Seeks Vice President of Development

The Vice President of Development (“VPD”) is responsible for planning and implementing the Museum’s comprehensive development program and its interaction with the Museum’s marketing and membership initiatives. The VPD reports directly to the Museum’s Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the senior management team. The VPD will work closely with the CEO, senior staff and the Board of Trustees on all Museum fundraising initiatives, including capital campaigns, major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and special events.

North Carolina Maritime Museum Hiring Watercraft Center Manager

The North Carolina Maritime Museum in the Department of Cultural Resources seeks a Watercraft Center Manager for its Watercraft Center in Beaufort, NC. This is a full-time permanent State Government position. The hiring salary range is $30,856 – $37,383, and the successful candidate will start working early in the New Year.

Must be knowledgeable in watercraft construction techniques. Must be able to train and supervise a largely volunteer workforce. Must be goal oriented, self motivated and able to work independently under supervision. Must possess strong, interpersonal skills. Must be alert to personal and visitor safety at all times. Graduation from high school and two years of experience in boat construction, including supervisory or managerial experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Galveston Historical Foundation Seeks Coordinator of Maritime Education & Museum Programs

Galveston Historical Foundation is seeking a dynamic, creative and energetic individual to join a professional staff and revised business plan for the Texas Seaport Museum in the capacity of Coordinator of Maritime Education & Museum Programs. The position is designed to allow maximum opportunity to use new technology and museum education strategies to enhance the teaching of youth and adults on Texas maritime history using the historic tall ship ELISSA, Seagull II, Santa Maria and the museum site and facilities. North Carolina Maritime Museum Hiring Boatbuilder

The North Carolina Maritime Museum in the Department of Cultural Resources seeks a Museum Specialist – Boatbuilder for its Watercraft Center in Beaufort, NC. This is a full-time permanent State Government position. The hiring salary range is $34,190 – $42,000, and the successful candidate will start working early in the New Year.

Candidates must be knowledgeable in vernacular and “classic” watercraft history and construction techniques, skilled in traditional boat building techniques and in teaching them to the public and able to train and supervise a largely volunteer work force. Prefer graduation from a four year college/university , some supervisory and managerial experience or three years of related work experience with demonstrated knowledge of boat building. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience are strongly urged to apply.
