The National Maritime Historical Society, a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization, is dedicated to preserving and promoting our maritime heritage through educational programs, events, and our flagship quarterly magazine Sea History. Now in our 60th year, NMHS is seeking a new Executive Director to carry on this mission and expand our programs and initiatives to reach more people, young and old. Could you please share this email and the attached announcement about the position to whomever you know might be interested, or apply yourself.
The new Executive Director would be taking the helm after the retirement of Burchenal Green, NMHS President Emeritus, who has led the organization for more than 25 years. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to steer NMHS on a course forward that builds on what the Society has achieved over the last six decades and has a vision for the role a national organization in this field could play.
As the attached job description states, resumes should be submitted to jnoone@seahistory.org
