It’s not often we encounter “Free Admission” in our lives…but Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day is back this year, and the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum is proud to announce it is part of this special event!
Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket on Saturday, September 18, 2021—and this year SBMM is one of those museums. SBMM will be open to Smithsonian ticket holders and all others that day from 10am-3pm. To get free admission, guests must present an official Museum Day ticket that will provide free general admission for each ticket holder plus one guest (Since SBMM is free for children under 6, the museum will not count those children as a separate guest).Tickets are only valid on Museum Day, September 18, 2021. Tickets are now available to download. To register for tickets, visitors should go to the Smithsonian website, search for their favorite participating museum, and register at https://smithsonianmag.com/museumday/search/?q=.
I hope you will help us promote Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day and encourage members of the community to take advantage of this special offer…and that you will bring your families as well! And remember, our unique Surfing Heritage exhibit is still on display through October 30!
